From Cute to Adventurous: Types of Dates for Every Mood

What if your partner is hangry and ignoring your texts? Don’t panic! That’s just one mood out of many.

Each date will be different with your partner. It just depends on the day, the weather, and also on whether your girlfriend has already had her lunch. (if she hasn’t… good luck). The fun part? Every kind of date brings a different vibe. So, let’s dive in.

Adventurous date

If you both had a good sleep last night, and you are all pumped to have an energetic day. You can make it an active or sports-themed date.  It does not have to be perfect athletic attire and equipment. You can simply head to the nearby park and explore the area. Or, if you are like me, who hates it when anyone mentions outdoor activities that make you sweat, you can try out a new activity you have always wanted to try.

Something new, like pottery, an art class, or hitting the arcade. You will feel the adrenaline rush while having fun trying something fresh together. If you do not want to go out and are too lazy to even change your dress. What is better than an unplanned long drive? Keep the destination a mystery, you've got an adventure night with your partner.

Fancy date

You might have an important day or event planned with your loved one, which includes dressing up fancy. Or you want to simply go on a date where you want to get dolled up instead of just showing up in jeans. I would highly suggest attending a high tea. There are many places available that provide high tea where you can dress up with your partner. The point is to eat amazing food and have a conversation in an elegant place of setting around you. It is Instagrammable-worthy, too. “Fancy, innit?’

A dinner date with a reservation in an amazing hotel, also a fancy date. You will look good, eat well and create some unforgettable memories with your partner.

Cosy/homey date

The best kind, isn't it? It's something about the dates at home that feel intimate and just living in your world. There are no rules here. Everything is based on your interests. If you want to make it even better, you can try cooking together with your partner. (One of you can wash the dishes.) It will not feel like a chore. I would strongly suggest a game night or a movie night to make your date more lively. Nothing is better than spending quality time with your partner, which allows you to know each other more.

Healing date

This is for the couple who really need some quiet time together. If you are busy and overwhelmed by everything around you, then I would strongly suggest a healing date. You can always visit naturistic places near you. Beaches, lakes, or mountain-based areas to unwind with your partner. Healing dates can feel therapeutic, which is much needed in this busy era. (I would recommend a no-phone rule)

Spending time with your partner creates more understanding and affection between you. So anytime you get, you can choose any of these dates and run to your partner.

Which date will be suitable for you?

Let me brainwash you into watching sitcoms

“I declare bankcruptcyyyy”  If you read that in Michael Scott's voice, then you are one of us, a sitcom lover. I started watching Sitcoms when I was in University. A Friends scene popped up on my YouTube recommendations. Ironically, I watched the finale first. But it was so funny and oddly comforting that I went back and binged all the seasons. Since then, I’ve fallen deep into the sitcom rabbit holes.  There is something about watching sitcoms which creates a safe and calm feeling. It will give you an instant feeling like you are included in something warm and pleasant. I believe this is the reason for people to rewatch the same sitcoms many times. Let me give you a few more reasons why you should start watching sitcoms. They are relatable I believe everyone has the urge to feel included, and sitcoms are best at doing it. Remember when Monica asked, “Do you have a plan?” and Phoebe responded with, “I don’t even have a pla ...”? It was hilarious and validating. It remin...

Tengah healing ke tu? A needed escape to Gunung Jerai

Sometimes all we need is a different perspective.  We often get caught up in routines and forget why we push ourselves so hard. At the core, it’s to live the life we dream of. And that takes effort, discipline, and sometimes, a bit of healing. I recently took a long-planned, but impromptu trip to Jerai Hill (Gunung Jerai), which allowed me to relax and stay mindful in the present moment.  To be very honest, I just wanted to escape from the scorching hot weather recently. Malaysia is filled with famous hill stations, and Gunung Jerai is an underrated one. Let me just walk you through everything I loved about Gunung Jerai.  Buckle up! (No, really) Like any hill destination, you need to drive through the beautiful greenery, which makes you think about what else is beautiful you haven't witnessed yet in life. The roads are well-maintained, and there are clear horn signs along the way. It’s a drive that asks you to be both careful and present, watching the road while soaking i...
